Now that grilling season is really here and you’ve got your special grilling apron, spatula and platter ready to take all that delicious food off of the grill don’t forget to move those grills away from your house, apartment, condo and/or seasonal home and away from your deck! Please do not grill inside of your garage and/or shed!
According to the US Fire Administration “about 5,700 grill fires take place on residential property every year. These fires cause an annual average of $37 million in damage, 100 injuries and 10 fatalities” (www. .iii.org/article/grilling-safety-and-insurance). We don’t want you to end up being a statistic and setting your home or yourself on fire. Always make sure that you have a fire extinguisher on hand and that you know how to use it.
