Splish Splash!! Who Has A Pool???
The Michigan summer season is here which means it’s pool season! Warm weather with the sun in the sky and the sound of Splish splashing, water games, floats, the smell f chlorine in the air and beach towels scattered around the pool area and your yard. Towels hanging out to braw we want you to remember a few things to keep you, your family, friends, and neighbors safe.
1-If you have a pool, please make sure it’s fenced and secure so kids can’t get into when you’re not home or are not outside in the pool area.
- Don’t forget a self-latching gate that is out of reach of children.
- Designate someone to be the water watcher. This person needs to be sober and not distracted by their phone or reading etc. since they will be watching everyone in the pool and around the pool.
4-Put away your phone when anyone is in the pool.
5-Have someone at all times by the pool that is CPR certified.
6-Have life jackets for those that can’t swim.
These are just a few reminders but there are many many more. Please make sure you take all the safety precautions you can when you have a pool. Check the Red Cross website https://www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/types-of-emergencies/water-safety/home-pool-safety.html
