ML&L Cares Program Spotlight: Renvyle Ireland Community Development Fund
About three years ago now Will and I decided to implement the ML&L Cares: Trusted Choice for Charities program. What is this? Our agency will donate $500 each month to a local area non-profit that is referred to us by YOU our clients. Just email mllcares@mllins.com with the name of the charity, a quick description and contact information for the charity.
The name of the charities that are referred to us go before our ML&L Charity committee that consists of a team member from our service, sales and management team and they select one recipient each month. The charities that were not selected stay on our list for the following month. The more times the same charity is referred the more weight it is given before the committee.
If you have a charity you would like to nominate email your nomination to mllcares@mllins.com !
This month’s recipient is: Renvyle Ireland Community Development Fund
The MLL Cares program is going international for May and June! We have donated $1000.00 to the Renvyle Ireland Community Development fund. The Renvyle peninsula is located at the far western edge of Ireland and is surrounded by amazing beaches and mountains and encompasses two small villages Tully and Tully Cross.
The Aquinas College Study Abroad program has been taking students to this rural village for 50 years and Lisa Lemanski was a participant of this program back in 2001 and has gone back and visited a number of times. This village holds a very special place in her heart and deep down in her soul as she will tell you. It’s hard for her to describe why this experience is so special to her but if you’ve been there you will get a glimpse of what makes this village so special. Every year for 50 years the community has welcomed Aquinas students and provided them with a unique study abroad experience that for Lisa has developed in life long friendships across generations and amazing experiences and memories.
The community spirit thrives in this village and they are working hard to make some improvements to two spaces right in the center of Tully and Tully Cross. They have re-established the Renvyle Community Development committee has been revitalized with 15 people from across the community and various walks of life who has formed subcommittees to help distribute the work, time and talents of the committee. They are working on Marian Hall right in the center of the community. The hall serves as a wonderful place for the community to gather for a variety of events from fitness, celebrations, club meetings, BINGO, dances and plays to name a few.
They are also working hard to revitalize the pitch behind the nine thatch roofed cottages in the center of Tully Cross. The pitch (playing field) has become overgrown and can’t be used in it’s current condition. Their plan is to raise funds to make some improvements to the hall but also to drain, cut back and roll the pitch and eventually add training and match facilities, walking/running track around the outside of the pitch, playground and a family friendly space.
The Renvyle Community Development is hosting a number of fundraising events and collecting donations to help provide resources and a family friendly space for the community.
If you are interested in donating please email Lisa Lemanski at lisa@mllins.com.
Thank you Renvyle Community Development for all that you do to help the Tully and Tully Cross communities to provide safe and fun places for the community to enjoy in a variety of ways.
If you have a local charity that you would like to nominate please email mllcares@mllins.com with a brief description of the organization and stay tuned to our social media.
